how do I sort DNS settings in domain info so I get my email?
-
I thought I set up my DNS email info correctly in my domain settings but it’s still not working. Trying to get (email visible only to moderators and staff) to forward to (email visible only to moderators and staff)
What did I do wrong?? Complete neophyte, please be kind.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Lucy,
It looks like you set up custom mail servers so email forwarding is not possible. If you would like to set up Email Forwarding please remove those records, and you can set up the forwarding as shown in the link above.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Ok, that’s semi clear to me. What exactly do I need to get rid of to be able to forward?
I see MX CNAME and A – which do I delete and will (email visible only to moderators and staff) automatically get forwarded from my original host site? I have a different host than wordpress. WiserHosting is the source. Oh this is a mess! guide me please. thank you. -
Hi Lucy,
No, if you want email forwarding, what that does is forward email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to any email that you already have, for example a gmail account. If you already have (email visible only to moderators and staff), then all emails to (email visible only to moderators and staff) will forward to (email visible only to moderators and staff).
If you want to use your email hosting, then email forwarding is not necessary. Please contact your email host to see if this is what you want to do. If you do not want to use your host and want to use our email forwarding features, let me know and we can remove those records.

Thanks so much – I’d like to keep this as simple as possible. If I can delete those records and do this directly through WordPress then so much the better. How do we start? best, lms

Hi Lucy,
Thanks for the confirmation! I have removed the records. You can now set up your Email Forwarding as seen in the link.
Let me know how it works out!

Well, after months of hair pulling and feeling very much out of my depth, this has solved the issue. I’m unsure if I just had the wrong end of the stick to begin with or if WordPress did an update feature. In any case, thank you very much for your help. This has solved it! DNS is still a learning curve away for me. Appreciate your patience and guidance. All the best –

Hi Lucy!
I’m glad it all worked out! DNS is quite confusing so you’re not alone!
Happy Blogging!
