How do I start after the prelims? Where do I go next?

    I have an account, username and password. I also bought a domain name and paid a little extra for the privacy option. Where do I go from here? I’m not too swift with all this.

    My idea of blogging is to write about anything and everything anonymously. I don’t need to dress it up with pictures or include anything from any other source. And I want to include an address for readers to reply to what I’ve written. Is WordPress.com right for me?

    Also, how do I attract readers? “Xanderax” doesn’t give a clue to what I’m writing about. Should I have made the domain name descriptive?

    Hiya,

    You can remain as anonymous as you’d like as you write. You don’t have to include any images, just text. WordPress also includes, by default, a commenting system whereby anyone reading can comment on your articles and you can comment in reply to them, etc.

    In regards to attracting readers, you should tag and categorize each of your posts. Based on those tags and categories your posts will be placed on the WordPress.com Reader where other members of the WordPress.com community can find you. We also submit your site to Google.com and other search engines.
