How do I start writing – where?

All I want to do is to start writing the blog. I can’t find my way into this despite having set up and had confirmed an account. Everything seems to be aimed at the existing (and sophisticated) blogger. I am 71. How do I start?

Thank you. I am now even more flummoxed. All I want is to write a simple blog, not design a flashy website. Why is it all so complicated? It reminds me of mobile phones – you just want a phone, but you end up with something which can even cook the dinner for you! Will keep trying, but it is very disheartening.

Thanks. Obviously I am an alien, albeit a 71 year old one. For a start I need a dictionary because the labels being used do not seem to mean what they mean to me. Phrases and words like “custom menu” “pages” “dashboard” and “posts” are confusing, but I am trying. Symbols are also bewildering, but the worst of all is trying to get back to where I was – currently “Reader” (what a weird nomenclature!) only lets me access something called “Freshly Pressed” which is interesting but not what I want. Is there an English glossary anywhere?

Go to Dashboard->all posts ->Create New. Write a post. Hit Publish. It’s not hard, even if you’re 71.

Thanks indeed. I am beginning to penetrate the fog. Who knew that “Get Lingo” meant Glossary!! I have published my first post, so progress is being made if slowly.
