How do I stop email notifications to subscribers for old posts newly added?
-
Sometimes I need to post a report with an old date — for reports lost during the transition from a former site to WordPress. I definitely don’t want subscribers to my blog’s email updates to receive notifications of these ‘old’ but newly posted items. How do I prevent this from happening?
I checked the Email Post Changes option under Settings and ‘Send an email when a post or page changes’ is not enabled. I always back date the date of publication before publishing these reports but email notifications of these oldies are most definitely going out to subscribers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s not possible. Even if you set the blog visibility to private and then deal with publishing the posts, as soon as you change the visibility setting back to public the posts will be sent out in the RSS feed to followers.
