How do I stop my domain from going to an old site?

Eliminate old website and only use wordpress. I have a site that was used as a student at IIN. I want to stop using that site and only use WordPress. How do I go about that? I have the domain changed to here, but it goes to there.

I do not want the old site. I only want to use the WordPress site. Do I remove the domain name off the old site and if I do, will it automatically come here. Or how do I do that?

Do you want a new site with your mapped domain? if so, please first create another blog on your account at http://wordpress.com/signup . This was I can assign the domain mapping (janolynkeller.com) to your newly created site.
Otherwise feel free to cancel and refund your domain mapping at https://janolynkeller.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

I sure hope that I can transfer all the things from this one to that one. Do you assign the mapping there or is there something I have to do? If so, how?

Thank you. I got the stuff moved and it looked good. Then I started adding the links and straightening things back out and all of a sudden it started going back to the old website. I will leave it alone for tonight and see if it is okay in the morning, but could you please check on it and see if it is working like it should? I am using the Spectrum template if that makes any difference.
I appreciate your help very much. I do not know what I would do without it…..happy!!

Thank you so much. It is going well today. I think that everything is in order. Oh, one thing, I had some people following me at the old blog site. How do I get them connected in the new one? Or do they both go together now? I have set the new one as primary.
Another quick question, can I have the swirl that is at the top of the Spectrum theme repeated down the page as it wants to do with pictures? All the way across as it is yet repeated.

One last question (maybe) (I hope). How do I choose what picture is shown when I post a link to FB. It always comes up with the Energizer Bunny and I do not want to keep showing that. I would rather have my profile pic or logo. How do I change that? I cannot find it.

If they already followed janolynkeller.wordpress.com, then they automatically follow janolynkeller.com as well.

This is generally not possible because that background is set as default in the theme. You can control the appearance of your blog with a Custom Design upgrade, if you’re experienced with CSS:

If you share a post that contains images it should select one of those images. Note that you can set a default blog icon at https://janolynkeller.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
