How do I stop my domain name redirecting to my old blog?
-
I recently transferred my domain name. I want to move from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and use a BlueHost.
When I try to access my admin page on cafebiblioart.com it takes me to cafebiblioaaart.wordpress.com admin page. How do I stop this from happening? I cannot move forward until this is fixed.
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I want to move from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and use a BlueHost.
To move your content into a WordPress.ORG site you need to create an XML export file of your WordPress.COM content and import it into the new site.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/1. Hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/
2. Set up a WordPress.org install and equip it with a theme and plugins.
http://wordpress.org/themes/
http://wordpress.org/plugins/3. Export your content out of your WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/ and import it into the install.
4. Purchase a site redirect upgrade from wordpress.com
http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ or if you have domain mapping then see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/#change-name-servers-to-point-the-domain-outside-of-wordpress-com and here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/5. Transfer subscribers and stats. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
6. Set your wordpress.com blog visibility to private. To change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Alternatively you can purchase a Guided Transfer and Staff will do the move and set up for you http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Thank you, but I already most of these things. I already moved, but when I try to access my wordpress. org account it goes back to my wordpress.com one. I can’t get rid of it

Have you waited 72 hours? It can take that long for the DNS to settle down and direct in the correct way.
-
Okay. So there is no other choice than to wait. It’s only been 10+ hours. I wasn’t sure if it was something I did or did not do. Thank you!

Although cafebiblioart.com has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If your domain is mapped to a self-hosted site, then your configuration may be fine as currently set up.
Hosting provider: Unified Layer
WHOIS: Click Here
Name Servers:
ns2.bluehost.com
ns1.bluehost.comLike raincoaster said it can take up to 72 hours for domain name changes to propagate throughout the internet. We have no control over when each site chooses to flush their DNS caches. You can view the process unfolding here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/

@timethief Thank you! I hope it will work. The domain was initially registered on wordpress.com and I transferred it to Blue Host this afternoon. I also changed the name servers to point to Blue Host servers, is there anything else I should do other than wait?

Hi there,
The redirection is working for me. If you’re still not seeing your site loading at http://www.cafebiblioart.com/, please wait a few more hours, clear your browser cache, and try again.
