How Do I Stop My Old Website From Appearing?

    Hello!

    Can anyone help me to remove my old website from the search engines?

    At the moment, I can still search for my old website and it will appear in the results list.

    Yet, it’s been over a year since I moved from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I even brought a new domain with Bluehost.

    I thought that when I changed my domain and imported my old site to the new one, the old one would disappear. But it didn’t.

    Things i’ve tried:

    A) Going to my account settings. But I couldn’t find any evidence that my old site still existed.

    B) I tried re-indexing my website with Google.

    C) I contacted Bluehost, but they said it was a WordPress issue.

    I’ve reached the end of my “technical know-how”, so I’m wondering if anyone has any other ideas I can try.

    Hi fstat,

    Thanks for getting back to me. I think I may have resolved the issue.

    When I moved to WordPress.org, I thought that it got rid of my WordPress.com account. So I kept logging into WordPress.org thinking that I could delete my old website from this account. I never thought that all I had to do was log into my WordPress.com account with my old login and delete my website.

    I hope now that the old website will disappear from the search engines.
