How do I stop my posts from showing up in the Reader? I want to create a site for my portfolio and do not want want my posts showing up in the Reader. Is this possible? Do you just make them all private? And if so, why does the word “Private” show up in the page header?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Gary,
You can set your site to Private by going to Settings > Reading in your Dashboard. Only people invited via email to see your site will be able to see it.
Once your site is private your posts will no longer appear in the Reader.

I’m not seeing it in your Reader. Can you show me where? Take a screenshot and upload it to your Media > Library page.

As you can see in the screenshot, it says your site is Private in brackets. You can see it because you’re following a Private site that you allowed. So only invited people can see this. Other readers on WordPress.com wouldn’t be able to see that in their Readers.
Cheers!
