How do I stop SPAM from bombarding me when I add your contact form?
-
I followed the instructions on WP.com on how to add a secure “contact me” form to my main menu. My site has been up and running for almost a year and has contact links embedded already in the pages, but I wanted to add one on the main menu navigation bar. For the first time I used your “contact me” form and in the last week my spam emails have drastically jumped. I did this this way because your support suggested that the form was the most secure way to NOT direct spammers to your inbox…but this seems to not be working… suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi Deborah,
Emails submitted through contact forms are all run through Akismet, our spam-blocking service. While Akismet is not foolproof, it should help to lower the amount of spam contacts. The best course of action is to help Akismet filter spam contacts out of your inbox by marking them as spam in the Feedback section of your blog. It looks like you’re already doing this. Over time, Akismet will be able to more accurately filter out the common phrases within spam emails.
This should happen fairly quickly, and you should not receive many more spam emails to your inbox. If you continue to receive them, please let me know!
