How do I stop WordPress from displaying my post hits to viewers?

  • Unknown's avatar

I first encountered this problem two days ago when I was installing jetpack.

An option to display post hits came up and I accepted it (I don’t remember how I saw it in the first place), thinking I would be the only one to see the hits but they’ve been displaying on all my posts since then.

How do I stop this? Please, treat as urgent.

    The website is https://opportunity.wirkish.com

    Thank you very much.

  • Hi there,

Jetpack doesn’t include any feature to display hit counts on individual posts. That’s likely coming from another plugin you have installed on the site, but it’s definitely not coming from Jetpack. Looking at your site’s source code, it looks like that plugin might be the Google Analytics plugin by MonsterInsights. Try disabling that plugin and see if the hit counts go away to confirm it.

If that’s the plugin, you can find their support at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/google-analytics-for-wordpress/

On an unrelated note, I see the Jetpack connection for your site isn’t actually working at the moment:

    Debug

Please follow Jetpack’s troubleshooting steps on that page to fix the connection. If you need any help with that you can reach Jetpack support at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/

    Thank you very much.

I discovered that it was a setting in my Wp Statistics plug in.

Yeah, I deactivated jetpack in a moment of panic.

Thank you very much for your help.
