How do I stopped getting charged if I no longer want wordpress.com?
-
I’d like to delete my account, but reading through your forum I see I can’t do that. I would like to ensure I’m not automatically charged for this account. How do I do that? Is the $99/yr automatically taken out of my bank account?
Please help!
Thanks!

Hi there. If you go to the Store ->My Upgrades page in the dashboard there should be an option to cancel the auto-renew of your upgrades. If you cancel that, your upgrades simply won’t renew when they run out and you won’t be charged again.
If you want to delete your blog completely you can also cancel your upgrade. Then you won’t need to wait for the upgrade to run out. Keep in mind, though, that if it has been more than 30 days since you bought it you won’t receive a refund. Cancelling the upgrade is also done from the My Upgrades page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/

Thank you for the information you provided – it helped. The reason we originally wanted to cancel the wordpress.com account was because we wanted to change to wordpress.org. So we have purchased hosting, the domain name (we built on wordpress.com) and we have a them selected we want to use, but how do we transfer our domain name from wordpress.com to wordpress.org?
Thank you again,
Tim & Lisa
