How do I strip the exif information from all of the photos in my media gallery
-
Amightywp, this is a new issue for me, have had the website up for 1 1/2 yrs and suddenly my camera info is showing once you click a thumb to enter slideshow, rendering it useless. When I visit Settings> Media, I don’t see any options except:
Media Settings:
Image sizes
Thumbnail sizeUploading Files:
Organize my uploads into month- and year-based foldersThere are 100’s of images so doing anything image by image is not reasonable. I need an overall fix, not a third party to help me strip before I post. It’s frustrating because once again a customer who paid for a working website with a slideshow gallery now has to pay more to fix it cuz WP made a change that messed up their own product.
See here:
http://www.tattoobettys.com/jordans-galleries/j5/Everything is up to date. In fact, this happened when I did the last WP update. Which also messed up a few other things I have had to fix on this and other sights.
Thanks for your assistance.

There is no means I am aware of that amount to bulk stripping of EXIF data. I think you have to do this one image at a time. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/media-settings/#image-gallery-carousel

Hi there!
The site you’re having trouble with is a self hosted WordPress through WordPress.org. I don’t see it connected to your WordPress.com account through Jetpack. Do you have Jetpack installed and connected to another WordPress.com account?
If not, you’ll need to reach out to the WordPress.org forums for help:

I have read your links already, and posted to one and was told to start new thread,… I used the WP gallery for the slideshow, now it’s not working due to the info being added in. Happened at last update. I don’t need to strip the info as much as a fix to the issue WP caused. Thank you though… need to talk to staff!

Thx Shawna, I clicked thru to support from the hosted acct, so WP sent me here. I’ll look into that, thanks for the clarification!

@shawnajroberts
I’m sorry I missed the fact that was a self hosted WordPress.org install.Is it possible to bulk delete EXIF data from images in WordPress.COM hosted blogs? Or does that have to be done by editing and removing it one image at a time?

@timethief – We don’t currently have a tool for doing this. If it becomes a big problem, where we’re manually doing it, or asking users to manually do it, quite often, then we can ask the developers to build a tool for it.
