How do I submit a sitemap to Google for my mapped domain
-
I am trying to submit a sitemap for my mapped domain site to Google. I’ve tried pasting in ourblogname.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml. for an xml sitemap. It can’t find the page. I’ve tried uploading a manually created xml file following Google’s guidelines to a post and a page and then submitted those. Google says they are unsupported file types. HELP! Any ideas besides un-mapping my site (which I can’t do until October) and hosting it with Go Daddy where my domain lives?

The sitemap that wordpress.com automatically creates for you follows you. For your mapped domain it is here: http://hungrynomadmaps.com/sitemap.xml .

Hi again, I just tried submitting the sitemap link to Google that you sent. Google can’t seem to find the page for some reason. This is what comes up: General HTTP error: 404 not found
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.
I tried re-submitting five times. No luck. Any suggestions? -
If you click the link, it takes you to the sitemap just as it should. I’m not sure what is up with Google on that.
You might have to contact staff directly at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

Yeah, i had no problem accessing the page. It all seems right. Can’t figure it out, just posted a note in Google help. Will try support at WordPress if that doesn’t pan out. Thanks for your help.
