How do I swap the domain names over of my two blogs?

  I want to swap the domain name from my old blog to my new blog. I accidentally made my ‘Danielle Down Under’ blog have the domain name ‘theskinnyfatgirlblog.wordpress.com’ and now my ‘The Skinny Fat Girl’ blog has the domain name ‘mygardenofedan.wordpress.com’. I want to keep my Danielle Down Under blog but I accidentally gave it my preferred domain name which is more relevant to my The Skinny Fat Girl blog. Would I be able to have theskinnyfatgirlblog.wordpress.com associated to what is now currently mygardenofedan.wordpress.com

  I don’t know of a way to simply switch the URLs, but you can swap out the content of the two blogs. Going to be a bit of work, though.

  I’d suggest you create a third blog (not strictly necessary as you can do what I’ll suggest without one, but having an extra blog will be helpful in case something goes wrong). Give it any URL you like. Once you’re done you can set it to private and use as a test blog to try out new themes and widgets without messing up your regular blogs.

  Export the content from the first blog and import it to the test blog (http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-between-wordpress-com-blogs). Once you’re sure everything is on the test blog, delete the content from the first blog. (Warning: importing can take a while depending on how many posts and media files you’re moving, so be prepared to spend a couple of days on this.)

  Export the content from the second blog and import it to the first blog. Once you’re sure everything has imported, delete the content from the second blog.

  Export the content from the test blog (or use the initial export file from the first blog) and import it to the second blog. Set the test blog to private, but leave the content – that way you’ll see how any changes affect the look of different posts when you’re testing new themes, etc.

  The themes of the two blog you’ll have to switch manually, and if they have different settings, custom headers, etc. you’ll have to change all of them as well.

  Please be careful to not delete anything unless you’re sure it’s somewhere else otherwise you can lose it for good. Also don’t clear out the trash/recycle bins on either blog before you know you’re done.

  I’m assuming both these blogs are under the same username account? If not, this should still work, but will involve a lot of logging in and out as well.
