How do I switch my domain from another host to WordPress?

    I recently started my own business, and without a lot of knowledge on web design created my site through WIX. I am interested in switching to WordPress but I don’t want to switch my domain name because I have already begun branding the website. How is it possible to keep that domain name (Customlearningtech.com) but begin using wordpress? Would deleting the WIX account make the domain available again?

    Hi!

    Right now you can use your WordPress install at customlearningtech.wordpress.com without deleting your Wix account.

    Once you’re happy with the results you have on WordPress, you’ll need point your domain name to WordPress.com servers (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/). If Wix can’t allow modifications on the domain, you’ll need to transfer your domain name to a ‘standard’ registrar, like HostPapa or GoDaddy and then do the modification in the link up.
