How do I switch to wordpress.org?

  Didn’t do enough research before signing up. Just discovered the difference between the .com and .org of WordPress. I signed up for WordPress Premium through the .com, and registered my domain name through them.

  I tried to go to the My Upgrades section under Store to request a refund, but only see a cancel button for what looks like my domain name.

  I’d like to keep my domain name, get a refund for the premium bundle, and start using wordpress.org. Can I keep my domain name that I bought on wordpress.com and use a hosting site such as hostgator.com?

  Hi there,

  Yes you can move the domain name to a different host by changing the nameservers. You will not be able to transfer the domain to another company until 60 days after you registered it.
