How do I tell if I changed the domain or it already exists? Domain Change Troub
-
I changed my blog name and address from zrayjone’s blog to Empty Spaces. I tried to change the URL to emptyspaces.wordpress.com and I can’t tell if it worked and it’s blocking me out or if someone else already has that name. I searched for that name and it says it’s a blank page. So I think I’ve created the page but i can’t access it. How do I tell if I created the site and can’t access it versus if someone else has already used that name? Thanks, Z
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you registered the blog then you have the ability to recover it. the login link is http://emptyspaces.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog.Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
and if required click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery. -
If you did not register the blog then what follows must be noted.
There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.
If you are not successful, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

Turns out that there is another owner who is not using the space. How can I contact them about taking over the space? Thanks, Z

You need to find the owner yourself – since there is not even a place to leave a comment you are sort of stuck

Timethief, there is no contact information for this person or place to get in touch. How do I get in touch with staff regarding an email address or way to contact the person? Addressing your comment pasted below.
“In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.”
Thanks,

Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide the email address to you. I stated that clearly above so I’m sorry you missed it. Your only recourse now is to you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Also note you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
