How do I temp. disable updates to subscribers?

  Is there a way to disable blog updates that are sent to subscribers? I have a large amount of posts I need to make and do not want to spam my subscribers

  Would changing my blog from public to private stop the updates to people that have subscribed? Any help would be appreciated.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
