How do I transfer a website/domain to Word Press from another host?

I will be assuming webmaster for a volunteer organization. My target date is July 1. We currently have a website hosted by another provider. I am currently in the process of rebuilding the site with WordPress. We own the domain name. I am wondering what to do to change our website WordPress for hosting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First you need to understand that there are different kinds of WordPress:
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/If you want to use WordPress.com with free hosting, then you’d set up your free site, as you did with http://sosquiltingtogether.wordpress.com/
Then choose a theme, as you have done.
You can use the export and import tools in your dashboard to move your former site to this platform:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

As for your domain name, which you already own, you’ll need to buy a yearly domain mapping upgrade to use it on your wp.com site:
