how do i transfer current followers to new blog
-
I would like my current blog to go private (so that I’m the only one that can view it) and transfer my followers from that blog to a new blog. Can I do this, and if so, how?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you install and activate the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and provide the relevant URL(s), then Staff do the transfer of subscribers and stats for you. Please do that now so it’s ready for Staff to make the transfer.

Thanks 1tess, you are correct. I have not created the new blog yet. I wanted to know if the transfer was possible before I proceeded. So I assume it is possible then?

I don’t know! It can be done when one transfers from wp.com to wp.org. It is often done. But from wp.com to wp.com? I’m not sure. That was the original reason I tagged this thread. It seems logical. But it may be a different procedure. Possibly a matter of transferring ownership of the wp.com site. In which case you’d want to make the new blog with a different email address so it would be a different account??? but wait for a staff response. I don’t know the answer.

I usually add that you can subscribe to the topic so you’ll be notified of a response. In this case, in your case, I forgot. But it would be a good way for you to be notified of a response without having to keep checking back here.

I suppose it seems unusual (and why I haven’t seen this request before) that you’d make your primary blog private and want to start a separate blog with the old stats and followers.
Is there a reason you’d do that instead of setting up a new private blog just for yourself, just allowing the current public blog with stats and followers to continue as is? I’m just curious because that is something I’ve done, and it seems a simpler way to go.

Please let me know the blog where you want to transfer the subscribers from and to.
Looking forward to your reply.
