How do I transfer my blog to another user
-
It won’t allow me to transfer one of my blogs to another user. I have followed the instructions but it says I can’t transfer to that user! Any advice welcome
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @fionaking2013
Are you trying to transfer ownership? If so, please see instructions from this link – https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
If you only wanted to add another user (contributor) and keep your access to your blog, see instructions from this link https://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
Let me know if it helps.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I am looking to transfer ownership so that the person has full administrator rights. Currently the person does not have the ‘WP admin’ button in the sidebar despite being assigned to the role of administrator. So I thought if I transferred ownership then they would have full rights. However I followed the instructions at the link you provided above and it won’t allow me to transfer to ‘that user’.

I did this before, when I had to transfer ownership of my blog to my older WordPress.COM account, and I only used the “Add User” instructions.
I added the email address registered to the other WP account as administrator, in the People section.
Then that email address received an email notification. It can now see the blog listed in the “My Sites” section.
Re: Transfer A Site instructions – do you get any error message when you try to add the user? Were you trying to use the username or the email address?

Hi Rose,
The error displayed is “You cannot transfer to that user”. I tried using both the username and email address!
Kind regards

Hi Rosa,
I have a number of blog pages attached to my account and I only wanted to transfer one to this person. The person is not listed on this page https://specialandinclusiveeducation20152016.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php This is not the page I want her to have admin rights for.
I don’t want to transfer admin rights for all of my pages to her.

The subdomain is unique per blog. This must be your main blog, but your other blog sites have different names. You are not giving access to all your blogs, just for that particular one.
You mentioned in your first post, “The blog I need help with is specialandinclusiveeducation20152016.wordpress.com” Is it not the blog you wanted to transfer rights?
Please clarify more.

Apologies, this is the blog I want to share:

It is just for this one to this one person.

Hi Rosa,
Good news… small issue. Good news is she could log in at the link and got access to the Dashboard. Issue is when she goes from here https://si705collaborationandleadershipaoife.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
back to the site page she can’t get back to this page as she doesn’t have the WP admin button when on this page https://wordpress.com/view/si705collaborationandleadershipaoife.wordpress.com

Hello fionaking2013,
You cannot send her links you get when you’re login to your WordPress account, you have different user ID.
Are you able to ask her if she can see the blog listed here – https://wordpress.com/view
Then please ask her to login to https://wordpress.com
Click My Sites on the upper left of the screen.
Click “Switch Site.”
Then see if the blog you just gave access to her is showing.**Please note that if she can access the dashboard, she already have admin privileges. She must probably just looking at the wrong place.
Regards,
Rose
