How do I transfer my wordpress.com followers to my self-hosted blog?
-
Connecting wordpress.com followers to self hosted blog.
I have an issue. I had my followers connected before but when I changed hosts I lost my connection it seems. I have connected Jetpack, but need help. Can you all help? -
Hello there. I can transfer your Followers for you. I see that you have several sites. Could you please tell me the WordPress.com site you’d like your Follows to come from, and into which Jetpack site you want me to import them? Thanks so much!
-
The reality is. I have been so lost with what I am doing with the site of this blogging thing for bit.
Armansheffey.com used to be called the Edge of clarity as well. So I imagine that I have followers spread out through my 3 jetpacks.
armansheffey.wordpress.com is where the followers might have started. I had this done once before.
I think they might actually be connected to armansheffey (jetpack) and edge of clarity (jetpack) but need them all combined at Armansheffey.com (jetpack)…. complicated enough?

Hi there, No worries, we’ll get this all sorted out. :)
Could you take a look at My Blogs in your account and give me the exact Jetpack sites? “Edge of clarity” is the title of your blog, but it’s not specific enough for me to make the transfer.
Thanks very much! We can get the ball rolling once we hear from you.

Ok Now I am thoroughly confused.
You ready for a doozie?Upon further review I am not sure which jetpack is right.
I have one jetpack (at armansheffey.com labeled “ArmanSheffey”) that does not have my active stats. Then I have another jetpack (at 66.147.244.194/~armanshe/ labeled “ArmanSheffey.com”) that has my active stats. Then I have the one that I believe may have my followers ( at blog.armansheffey.com labeled “Edge of Clarity”)
Screen shot of my confusion: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4u39va3lk1046kp/Screenshot%202014-04-15%2019.08.53.png
Is it possible to get my live stats and a combination of all followers from the three all at the jetpack for armansheffey.com labeled “ArmanSheffey”?
Let me know if this means I need to disconnect something and reconnect on my end or what.
I will admit this is driving me a bit bonkers right now.
Help? -
I can transfer your followers (and stats, if you wish) from one WordPress.com site to one Jetpack site.
For the WordPress.com site, you will need to provide the specific WordPress.com URL for the site with the followers now. That may require you to check each possible site’s stats to find the site with the followers you wish to transfer.
As far as the Jetpack sites go, I see the following connected to your account.
armansheffey.com/main/
armansheffey.com
inthegamepodcast.com
markcarter.tv
blog.armansheffey.com
66.147.244.194/~armanshe/First, are there any here that you know you’re not using now? If so, I can remove those now.
After that, it may be easiest for me to disconnect all of the similarly-named sites. From there, you can go back into the Jetpack module in the Dashboard of your active site and reconnect Jetpack with your armansheffey WordPress.com account. That will ensure we have the correct connection enabled, and remove all of the others.
Would that work for you?

Sorry I haven’t replied in a while to my issue. Easter was crazy busy.
As far as the wordpress site with the followers, I am not sure. The one I believe they are at is no longer active and I can’t tell when I see the stats who/how many followers there are. I believe they are at blog.armansheffey.com.
The one that I would like to have my followers is http://armansheffey.com.
After that issue is closed, we can work on making sure my stats are connected to that one as well and then work on eliminating the unused ones. Thanks!

There doesn’t seem to be a site at blog.armansheffey.com.
You do have a WordPress.com site at armansheffey.wordpress.com. Could you please check your site stats page for that blog to see if that’s the site that has the followers and stats you wish to transfer? If that’s not it, please go to https://wordpress.com/my-blogs/ and then let me know which is the correct blog.
On the other side, I saw two Jetpack connections at armansheffey.com, and one at
http://www.armansheffey.com/main. I disconnected Jetpack from both of those; could you please reconnect Jetpack to your active site now, which will ensure I have the correct connection? -
I will reconnectto the correct one. As far as the blog.Arman Sheffey.com jet pack, the problem is that was a site and had my followers from the WordPress.com site sent there, when I first came over. That hosting for that site was cancelled and am hoping to get the followers I once had brought to my current site, armansheffey.com.
I will let you know when I have the right jet pack connected.
-
If the site that had followers is no longer an active site, and is not currently connected to Jetpack, I’m not sure that I’ll be able to do much for you.
Was the site at blog.armansheffey.com the site with the followers originally?
