How do I transfer the content from the home page to a blog category

  I have years worth of content on my homepage, but I need to transfer it all to a sub-category of the site. I want the sub-category to be blog. I don’t want my content to show up on the front page. I want the content under blog. How do I transfer all the data from one category to another?

  You can set a static front page for your site and then create a page to be your blog and assign those at Settings > Reading. See this support document for more on how to do that.
