How do I trash old drafts without deleting their associated published posts?

I have several draft posts that are showing on my dashboard. Each of these drafts have already been posted and should not be appearing as drafts. I’m afraid to trash them, fearing that I will trash the published posts associated with them.

Deleting an independent draft ought not to have any impact at all on a post that has been published. Are you referring to post revisions, which cannot be deleted? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/ Or are you referring to independent drafts?

I still don’t understand if you are referring to post revisions as depicted here > http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/revisions-1.png?w=270&h=266 and which cannot be deleted or not.
If you are not referring to the post revisions, then you can delete the drafts here Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
hover over the titles and click “Trash.

They WERE post revisions, probably. How would I know. They look like duplicates to my posts.
If I make a revision to a post already published, will it produce a draft version of the original post? I sometimes make short revisions to posts I have published.

We Volunteers cannot get into your blog and review your drafts. if you have already published the post your want to see on the blog then delete the drafts. Go to > Dashboard > Posts > All Posts (Drafts) at
http://cah4el.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=post and hover over the draft post title then click the Trash link and go on to the next one. -
