How do I turn off all notifications on my blog

  I am doing hundreds of updates and edits etc on my blog and everyone who signed up is getting hundreds of emails every time I edit something .. is there a way to turn this off while I am doing my edits ? (it is for a online auction and I am in the middle of uploading hundreds of new items for a new auction)
