How do I turn off comments on my home page?

  Can’t turn off comments/reply on home page

  Open that page in the editor, go to the screen options tab at upper right of that page, activate the discussion module and then in the discussion module down below the text area, turn off comments and trackbacks and update the page.

  Ok then does any one know. In depo masthead I would like to turn on / enable comments display. ie want them to appear beneath the post.
  Any suggestions ? Pls & thx.
