Uncheck the box “Show falling snow on my blog until January 4th.” -
And you can turn it off for all WordPressdotcom sites you visit in your account settings https://wordpress.com/me/account

Thank you. It worked. I was searching all over under “appearance” and turned out to be under “settings.”
