How do I turn the comments off on image pages?

  Hello,

  I am using the wordpress to host my portfolio. I turned off all the comments in the settings/ discussion area, but when I click on an image it still gives people the option to leave a comment.

  Is there a way to get rid of this?

  Nope. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done with attachment pages. (Which is why I no longer use them.)

  isn’t it the only way to use the gallery feature though, you have to use attachment pages?

  Not any more. You can open the image in a blank page. Look under gallery settings and chose the radio button: link thumbnail entry to file.
