How do I "unfollow" a blog and turn off "try new improved editor" notification
-
There used to be a button for follow and unfollow.
The latter has disappeared, along with numerous other features that were efficient and convenient.
How can I unfollow with this new devolved system?
How can I turn off the notification to try the new editor?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Then ignore the message. That’s what I did for months on end. Alternatively, you can upgrade your browser version at http://browsehappy.com

I was hoping for a simple shortcut, like the url to access the original classic admin, which I have.
Unfortunately every day I come in to check the website, another great feature has vanished.
If I thought WP staff cared what anyone thought about these changes I would add the tag suggested, but after reading their remarks to other users it would only be an invitation for them to abuse, not help.
Enough said.

You can only get access to the tabs you are looking for by disabling your browser security features, specifically anything that blocks script and trackers.

Try this to see if it changes what you see through your browser.

Hi there,
Where exactly did the follow/unfollow button disappear? You should see that button in the bottom-right corner of every WordPress.com site. We have not made any changes to that actiom bar recently. If you don’t see it, then it could be an ad-blocker or security extension in your browser that’s preventing it from loading.
You should also see an unfollow option if you click the … icon on a post in the Reader.
The only recent changes that were made was the My Sites menu being updated, and the old /my-stats page being retired. Neither of these changes are going to be rolled back, but if there are specific features you’re missing, please let us know what they are and we will look into what’s feasible to add and what’s not.

@reidedwards et al – It may not be entirely intuitive, but when you are in the Reader – Manage Sites you will see a green “Following” link on the right. If you click the green link, you’ve unfollowed. Same thing in the Action Bar when on a site you are following. This is explained in the support doc that timethief linked to here: How to Unfollow a blog if you’re a WordPress.com user
https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#how-to-unfollow-a-blog-if-youre-a-wordpress-com-userAs far as dismissing the message about switching to the improved editor in the WP Admin Dashboard Editor, it’s not possible to do so. That has been previously requested and we users were advised the message won’t be removed.

I had the same problem. There simply was no green “Following” where it was supposed to be. Also, unlike the wordpress app on my smartphone, I couldn’t find any “Follow” button when visiting someone’s blog. Until I turned off the ABlockPlus for wordpress.com, and suddenly everything is there!

I came here looking to disable the new editor, altogether–it is HORRIBLE. The old one is much more useful.
