How do I update my blog to install Jetpack?

I think I need to update my blog so I can install Jetpack to add the subscriptions widget. Or is there more I need to do? Could you please tell me how to proceed.

Hi there – Jetpack is a plugin for self-hosted WordPress websites, so that they can enjoy the same features that are included here for sites hosted with WordPress.com. You are already hosted with WordPress.com, so you don’t need Jetpack – you already have all of those features! :)
To add the subscriptions widget, simply to go Appearance->Widgets here, find the “Follow Blog” widget, and drag it into your sidebar:
