How do I update our credit card on file?

Our original administrator who set up our WordPress account is no longer with us. He set up our credit card information. We need to switch that card to another credit card. I am set up as an admin on our account but I can’t see our cc info because I didn’t set it up. How can we switch our billing to a different credit card? I don’t have the login info from our originator.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Blogs are not owned by companies, organizations or groups. They are owned solely by the username account that registered the blog and who is the Admin of the blog.

Note that then original username account and Admin of the blog who owns it can transfer ownership of the blog to another WordPress.com username account.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

If you are not the blog’s owner you will need to contact them on your own and request that your username account be added as an Admin of the blog you want to own.

Staff will not contact them for you and will not breach the privacy policy and provide the email address.

This thread is tagged for a Staff response as we have no way of knowing who you are and how you got the email address. For all we know at this end you could be a spammer or hacker trying to gain access to a blog you do not own.

ok i understand your security — i guess i’m out of luck since our owner has been deleted from our account users. so, is my best option to deactivate our existing blog (if i’m even allowed to do that as an admin) and start a new blog?

Do not delete the blog. Wait for Staff to respond please. (If you have Admin status on the existing blog you can create an XML export file of the content. )

    Hi there,

There is no need for you to cancel the blog entirely. If you can log in to your account’s Dashboard and then go to Store >> My Upgrades, you will see listed under each item the name of the user who purchased it. Now if you are still in contact with that person or have access to that email address, I can send an email getting permission to transfer the upgrades over to your username instead.

Is that something you’d like me to do?

Yes, please. I know the person who “owns” our account and made the purchase. He used to be an employee of ours. We have access to his email – we just don’t know how to switch it over. Unfortunately, we already removed him as a user on our WordPress account. The owner switch is only for billing purposes. Our upgrades are under his credit card number which is getting ready to be cancelled and we need to switch the credit card to one of our other corporate cards. Hopefully, this makes sense. Let me know what you need me to do.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi there! @amightywp is out, so I’ll be taking over assisting you!

The user account that purchased the upgrade is also the blog owner administrative account, which cannot be removed from the site without transferring blog ownership. So the user account will be still active and would just need an update to the credit card.

I have sent an email to the email address on file for the upgrade/blog owner account with the subject line “Upgrade Renewal: http://allegraeast.wordpress.com/” with instructions on how to login and change the stored credit card information on file.

Please let me know if you have not received this email.
