How do I upgrade my wordpress.com account to latest version?

    Hi,

    I’m trying to add plug in features to my wordpress.com site, however no plug in feature is available through Appearance tab (widgets appears). Each plug in installation says I need to have an upgraded version? There are no emails or notifications in my admin in box to upgrade my version of wordpress.

    That is not possible. There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

    If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database.     Also note that here at WordPress.COM Staff do all upgrades for us, and they are done and operating for a full month here before the versions are even released to WordPress.ORG users.

    Do not relay on tutorials and information you find online because it applies to WordPress.ORG installs and not to WordPress.COM blogs. The only relevant support docs for WordPress.COM blogs are here http://support.wordpress.com
