How do I upgrade to custom design for only $30?

  • Unknown's avatar

When customising my Free/Beginner wordpress template, I’m given the option to ugrade to a custom design for $30. However, when I click through this link, I’m taken to a panel with only Premium and Business deals, from $99.

Does anyone know what this $30 deal is and how to implement it?

    Thanks,
    Steph

You can’t. They have just recently disabled the ability to buy that upgrade separately and now you have to buy the bundle.

  • This is because WordPress.com is no longer selling individual plans. They are experimenting with bundles so you will have to buy full bundle although you only need few items in the bundle.

Please check this thread for the full details. To highlight a staff’s response:

As we’ve mentioned in the forums, we’re constantly experimenting and working to improve the WordPress.com Store experience. One part of that experimentation is providing plans, rather than individual upgrades, to new WordPress.com users. What this means is that new WordPress.com accounts will see a different Store upon logging in.

This change will not affect any current upgrades for existing users. However, for new accounts going forward, our individual upgrade options will now be bundled into single plans that users can pay for yearly. As we move into this change, your feedback is invaluable for shaping how the store will look going forward.

That was showing up incorrectly on one of the dashboard pages where it shouldn’t have been. I’m really sorry it caused some trouble! Thank you for asking about this. That page has been updated now so it will be clear for new users in the future.
