How do I upload a new theme

  I want to upload the theme desktop chaos. I have the zip file. How do I proceed?

  If you cannot upload other themes, then how is the blog bigcanoewriters.org using the desktop chaos theme?

  Is it hosted on the wordpress.com platform?

  Or is it self-hosted elsewhere?

  Nope. Not here. Self-hosted using software from wordpress.org

  Thanks for the help. If I understand correctly, I can download the wordpress.com software and install on my ISP and then can use the desktop chaos theme. Is that correct?

  You can download the WordPress.ORG software (for free) and install it on a host – most hosts have a one button install – some ISP’s also allow hosting – you need to check with them – running the WordPress.ORG install is much different than having a few pages of pictures and text which is what most ISP’s built in

  No, that is not correct.

  You have to download software from WordPress.ORG, get independent hosting somewhere, and upload the software there in order to use themes. Then you install the theme in your Theme folder of the database.

  Thanks guys. Maybe I should just stick with the free wordpress site and find another theme.
