How do I upload pictures to me site?

  Until a couple of weeks ago I could upload images to my site with ease. No longer I keep getting http error every time I try to upload new pictures. I cannot update my blog either pictures. I have a big exhibition coming up next week and this is all a bit rubbish! Please help!
