How do I use the Second Static Front Page feature? I see that this feature is displayed when I visit the Widgets page, however I am using the Twenty Twelve theme, and it does not appear to support a Second Static Front Page. Do any of the basic themes support a Second Static Front Page? Thanks for your help!

I don’t even know what a second static front page is, because by definition the front page has to be unique.

OK, maybe my question is not the best formed. When I go to Appearance > Widgets, I see two zones in the upper right corner, one for First Front Page Widget Area, and one for Second Front Page Widget Area. I don’t understand how that feature relates to the standard options offered in the Customize menu for the Twenty Twelve theme, under ‘Static Front Page’. As a newbie, one can read the phrase ‘Second Front Page Widget Area’ in at least two different ways…

Thanks, but I have already been to those pages and done many searches of the Forum and other places. However… I found another way to meet my needs, by adding widgets to a page that is not the Static Front Page. So in one sense, my topic is “resolved” (although my original question remains to be answered).

How do I use the Second Static Front Page feature?
You don’t and can’t as there is only one front page in any blog. Once you have used that template to be your front page that’s it. From there on your create static pages that are not “front pages”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

Probably the second way you’re thinking.
First Widget area on the Front Page
Second Widget area on the Front Page.

Ah, I see now. Thanks for helping me! I hope that you all can see the ambiguity in the text on that page (at least for a newbie). ([Second Front Page] + [Widget Area]) vs. ([Second Front Page Widget Area]) Perhaps the text could be changed to “Second Widget Area on the Front Page”.
