When you delete images from your Media Library they are no longer on wordpress.COM servers and when a browser calls for them to display they cannot be displayed. The result is broken links in the posts. Read more here https://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2013/09/20/omg-my-images-are-gone/
To view your Media Library space allocation use this link > Dashboard > Media > Library
http://rosielindseyphotography.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.phpAdding Storage Space
All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. If you need more space you can purchase the Premium plan which will give you an additional 10 gigabytes of storage space, and allow you to upload audio files. The Business plan includes infinite storage. -
This is not related to your issue but Choco is an older retired theme. Retired themes do not support all wordpress.COM features, therefore, the recommendation is to switch themes and that’s easy to do.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
Note that every theme will have a detailed theme description page with set-up instructions and a live demo site page that you can consult. Here’s an example:

Thanks. I found where I’ve seen how much space I’ve used. I’ve deleted about 10 blog posts and photos but that’s not opening up any space for new posts. Once I’ve exceeded the free 3000 do you mean no matter how many photos I delete I can never add new photos without upgrading? I don’t have the cash to do that right now.

To keep things running quickly around here, files are held in multiple caches through a separate system. These caches are usually cleared within 3 days and the files will then become 404 page not found.

Hi there,
I can see that you have deleted several posts, but it doesn’t look like you have deleted any images recently. Note that deleting a post doesn’t remove the images in that post from the library. You will need to delete the actual photos from the library as well to free up space:
https://rosielindseyphotography.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=listHowever, I want to suggest some alternatives to simply deleting posts and images, if I may.
1) Rather than deleting your older posts, why don’t you start a new free site. You can either create your new posts there, or you can export your older posts to the second site. After you’ve moved them over, you can then remove them from the first site, freeing up more space.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/2) You can upload your newer images to services like Google+ Photos or Flickr, and embed them into your posts from there. That way you can still add images to new posts, but you won’t need extra storage space here.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/adding-images-to-posts-or-pages/#insert-an-image-from-the-web3) I notice that you’re using images that are much bigger than the actual size they are displayed on your blog. All that extra size is just a waste of your media storage space. If you resize your images to the correct size before uploading them, and further trim down the file size with a tool like JPEGMini, you’ll find your media storage space will last much longer. This won’t help in terms of the images you’ve already uploaded, but if you start a new site it will help that site’s storage space last longer. Here is a very good post explaining this in more detail:

Thanks for all the advice. I’ll probably link to Flickr until I’ve decided what I’m going to do about a website in 2016. I appreciate the kind assistance.
