How do I work the homepage image slider for Organization theme?

Hello!
I’ve been through a handful of different forums trying to find answers on how to work the homepage image slider for the Organization theme. I can’t seem to figure it out. I don’t understand where the “tags” come in. Do I need to create a page for every photo I want to feature in the slider? (I’d rather not…but if I need to, that’s fine!)
Would really appreciate any tips you can give.

I’ve been through a handful of different forums trying to find answers on how to work the homepage image slider for the Organization theme. I can’t seem to figure it out.

The info for setting up the home page slideshow can be found under “Homepage Image Gallery”
I don’t understand where the “tags” come in. Do I need to create a page for every photo I want to feature in the slider? (I’d rather not…but if I need to, that’s fine!)
Because this is a featured post slider you will need to create a blog post (not a page) for each “slide” in your slider. You will need to set a Featured Image for each post, which will become the image you see on the homepage.
Because these are blog posts, to filter them out so that only specific “slides” show on your home, you will need to create a trigger tag, like “featured” which will trigger only the posts with that tag to display.
That way you can still use your blog for day-to-day posting, but still control which ones appear on your homepage. You can create this tag first by going to Posts>Tags, and then add that tag name (whatever you decide to call it) into the theme settings box for featured content found in Appearance>Customize.

Your help was perfect! Thank you for the explanations – I implemented everything and it is working! Because I’m trying to keep this site more of a business page as opposed to a blog, is there a way I can get rid of the “recent posts” at the bottom of my home page? I went to Settings > Reading and decreased the recent posts shown to 1, but that’s as low as it goes, and so far, it isn’t doing anything. Any suggestions there?

Hi Ashley – Do you want to hide that entire block of posts down there? If so, you can do it with this CSS:
.row .six { display: none; }If not, let me know in a bit more detail which specific bits you want to hide. :)

Thank you for replying – sorry for my delayed response. Yes, I’d like to remove those blog posts down at the bottom of the homepage, so I’ll give this CSS a try. (I still want those three images with the text directly under the homepage slider.)
Can you give me a little help on where I put this code and how I access the CSS? Is it just in the dashboard? Sorry…

Hi Ashley – Sure, you’ll go to Appearance->Customize here and then click the CSS tab on the side menu that appears:

You’re a lifesaver! It worked! Thank you so much. The only problem is, the homepage slider stopped working. It’s back to the one image. I have all of my images uploaded on separate posts and they’re all tagged as “slider.” Did it stop working because I put the CSS code in? Sorry to be so helpless. Really appreciate your help on this.

I’m sorry to bug you again – just one last question. I uploaded my logo when I very first started editing my site, but I want to upload a new logo but I don’t have the “logo” option in Appearance > Customize. Any ideas?
