How do non-WordPress authors access my blog after receiving the invitation?

    How does a non-Wordpress author access my blog?
    I’ve given permission to a couple of non-Wordpress users to be authors in my blog, but the instructions seem to be for those who already have a WordPress account. Do the ones without a WP account have to register their own account just to be an author in my blog?
