How do I reset API key?
-
Once I shared API with a third party script when it asked for me to enter my wordpress API key .That script is quite differenent. The script is not related to wordpress any way.The script is also untrusted one.Now I worry if I would get any trouble as I shared API .How do I change my API ?
Could any body tell me if there is way to reset API key ?
Thanks !

Unfortunately, API keys are permanently linked to your account and there is no way to change them.
If you’d like to, you could register for a new account and transfer your blogs to the new account following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Sir,
I worry about the API key because I have shared that API key with a script vendor. Now I am worrying as he may get access to my wordpress.com account .Is it possible to anyone using the API key and access my account?
And also I am using this wordpress account as Openid and connected to some other OAuth,RPX authenticated based websites .So is there any chance to anybody to access any of my other accounts like gmail, facebook as they were connected to wordpress.com?
Thanks !

“Is it possible to anyone using the API key and access my account?”
They won’t be able to access your account with just your API key, but they can claim ownership of your account with it, which is why we request that you keep the number private.
In this case, I recommend registering for a new account and transferring your blogs following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
