How do set the size for the featured images on my homepage?
-
Hello,
I currently have the featured images set as visible on my homepage for my recent posts. However, there is no consistency and images appear according to their resolution. Therefore, I would like to set the size of all featured images of my blog post to a certain size. Is there a CSS code that I can enter where I can control the size of the images featured on the blog posts shown on my homepage?
As you can see from my website, featured images appear larger than the others and I would like to have some consistency for featured images on my homepage.
It would be great if anyone could help me and all the help is very much appreciated.
Many thanks,

Hi @justmeromeo!
The trick here is the shape of your images – they need to be tall enough (compared to their width) to fill the allotted space.
The Featured Content blocks have a width-to-height ratio of 1.3:1 – so if you’re images fit that shape (or taller) you should be good :)
Basically, if you take the width of your image, and divide it by the height, you want the result to be 1.3 or less!

Hi staff-loquaciousloon,
Thanks for the response.
Apologies if i wasn’t clear with my original post.
The featured image that I want to set the size of is under the ‘recent posts’ on my homepage and not the featured thumbnail (3 featured imaged below the header photo).
As you can see portrait images are larger and out of proportion to the landscape images. Is there a way to set a default size of images of these posts under the recent post heading?
Many thanks,

Ah, understood, thanks :)
The theme displays a scaled down version of the image, but doesn’t crop it at all – your best bet will be to crop the images to a consistent size (or at least consistent width to height ratio) before uploading them.
