How do tags work?

  Do I create my own list of tags? And then do I assign each post to a tag or to several tags?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Thanks. I’ve read the guide, but I’m still confused about 2 things:

  1) I’ve added the tags widget to my sidebar, but when I “add tags,” nothing shows up there

  2)how do I assign a new post to a tag or a tag to a new post?

  1: Currently there are no tags yet. First create a post, add tags and then publish the post. This way tags will become visible in your Tags Widget.

  2: When editing or creating a post, you should see a ‘Tags’ box on the right hand side. Which is explained here.
