How do to resolve error of short meta description from google webmaster tool

here are problems i’m facing

1. I’m getting error of short meta description for 207 pages!!

how I resolve these? If change the slug (permalink), it’s a herculean task and it might also show as error in google search. What is way out?

2. creating a category and tag with same name creates a problem for google search?

3. apart from above I’m also getting duplicate meta description error for 58 pages.

I’m unable to understand how to resolve this?

Ideally, meta descriptions should be between 150 and 160 characters. I checked out a few of your posts, and currently, you’re setting a custom excerpt that’s a bit shorter than that length (130 in the few I looked at). The custom excerpt field is used to populate the meta description. I’m afraid the only fix here would be to update the custom excerpt for each post. A bit more on that here:

It’s also worth noting that although your meta descriptions may be short, they will still appear in search results. While you may receive a warning, I’m not sure it warrants going back through 200+ posts to update them individually.

Ideally, you wouldn’t want to create the same categories and tags. They’re treated similarly by search engines. There really isn’t a positive gain from doing this. For more on how to use categories vs. tags, please check out the documentation here:

Thanks for sharing! Most of these are subsets of the original page. For example:

/category/photography/weekly-photo-challenge/page/2/

Is a continuation of:

/category/photography/weekly-photo-challenge/

I’m afraid there isn’t a way to specify meta descriptions for subsequent pages of a category. So, when the only difference is a page number added to the end of the URL, you won’t be able to fix those, but they shouldn’t cause a drop in search engine ranking.

For the duplicate category/tag issues, I recommend removing duplicate category and tags from your site as previously mentioned.

My issue is that even though the post has title, why does it show title error? It’s showing error even with tags. I’m unable to understand the issue.
