  how do u insert google adsense into your wordpress.com blog?

  it is basically a bit of javascript script that needs to be inserted.

  i tried putting it in a post and also in the “text or html” widget and neither worked. it ignores the code and just puts blank space in there.

  i know it is possible. apparently there is some wordpress.org (not .com) site where u download wordpress and u can use plugins then? but this is all unclear. i dont have my own site so i dont want to be uploading stuff, i just want to use the wordpress.com account to host my site and insert google ads.

  If you’re using a WordPress.com blog, you aren’t able to install Google Adsense code, as well as any other Javascript codes.

  Here’s a link about what codes you are able to use on WordPress.com.

  You are able to install Google Adsense code if you are using the self hosted version of WordPress, which you can download from WordPress.org.

  Advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.

  Yes, if you would like to have ads on your blog, you would have to use the self hosted version of WordPress.

  There is a list of hosts that you can use to host a WordPress blog on the WordPress.org website.
