How do viewers subscribe to my blog
-
I want viewers to subscribe to my blog by clicking a button
According to your ‘help’ page I should be able to add a button by going to Appearance>Widgets. If I do this there is no ‘Follow Blog’ option.
This is the second time I have used WordPress’ so called ‘support function and on both occasions they were wrong.
I really hope I don’t get put through to a Happiness Engineer. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to http://bedfordshirehoney.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
Scroll down that page until you see the Follow Blogs widget. It will look like this: http://snag.gy/jDfdv.jpg
Drag that widget into the sidebar to the right.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/Logged in WordPress.com users can also follow your blog via the follow button in the admin bar. That is always there – you can’t activate or deactivate it.
For non-logged in users you can activate a follow button under Settings ->Reading in the dashboard. That’s not a widget, but a button that will appear at the bottom of the screen when a logged out visitor views your blog.
http://bedfordshirehoney.wordpress.com/ is completely empty. If you require help with a different site, please provide that site’s URL.

Hi
I did what you suggested http://snag.gy/mUK7G.jpg
When I go the blog page I see http://snag.gy/7gXRJ.jpg
In my dashboard I see http://snag.gy/BkYTC.jpg –
none of the options above are shown.
I want to get rid of a Facebook page by using WordPress. I asked for help on how to get blogs appear in Facebook as a first stage. This failed as I don’t seem to see the same things in my Dashboard and this seems to be happening again.
Looks like I will be using Facebook instead of WordPress. -
In my first reply I asked you if you needed help with a different site. The URL you gave above is for http://bedfordshirehoney.wordpress.com/
The screenshot you provided is for the dashboard of http://northbedfordshirehoney.com/ That is a completely different website!
http://northbedfordshirehoney.com/ is NOT a WordPress.com site, but a self-hosted WordPress.ORG site. That is why it doesn’t look like the WordPress.com support documents or the screenshot I provided.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Please visit the WordPress.org support forum for assistance as we won’t be able to help you here: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.
This is the second time I have used WordPress’ so called ‘support function and on both occasions they were wrong.
I really hope I don’t get put through to a Happiness Engineer.Don’t complain about the accuracy of the help you get in the forums if you supply the incorrect URL and refuse to answer a simple question when put to you. The advice I gave you in this thread, as well as the advice given to you by @raincoaster and @justjennifer in the other thread is 100% correct for the WordPress.com site, http://bedfordshirehoney.wordpress.com/ and in that thread @justjennifer ALSO asked you if you needed help with another site while you ignored her question.

You were asked if you needed help with a different site and or which site you referred to not once but three times by three different people. The URL you gave above is for http://bedfordshirehoney.wordpress.com/.
you refused to provide the relevant URL to not one, but one three different Volunteers and then became a namecaller, who breached the forum code of conduct https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-community-standards?replies=1
Good bye and good riddance.

@martinreed52-
You are asking for help on a site that is not hosted by us on WordPress.com as seen by your screenshots. That is a WordPress.org site hosted with: HOSTHOST.CO.UK as seen here:
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
Also, the tone and language you are using in this thread is not accepted here. We’d be happy to help, but please be considerate with your tone.

I will be closing this thread as your question has been answered. If you have any questions on your WordPress.com site, please create a new thread.
