how do we add a second administrator?

It’s unfortunate that I can’t ask a question to wordpress because it might affect which plan we’re on but we really can’t afford to pay for one anyway.
Recently a new leadership team came into our chapter. The person previously handling the web page added a chapter leader to work with the page. The chapter leader has a username and password and I’m another person who has to do the web work. How does the chapter leader set me as a person who can log in? Right now I only know how to log in with my chapter leader’s username and password.
Am I supposed to also be able to log in with my own username and password? At our free level of membership we do not see a way to add a second administrator. I’m the one who is going to be doing the work

i can’t delete this and it did not show the Public display name I had set. This is not ok. How do we delete this question? It’s not editable, and it’s showing a username we didn’t want it using.

WordPress.com usernames aren’t secret and confidential so I shouldn’t worry. It’s not always a great idea to have more than one Admin but it is possible for the owner of the site to do that. Better to assign people as Editors. They can do quite a lot (but don’t have the power to accidentally delete a site). See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

excuse me, i would like this to be deleted. I did not want a permanent uneditable message when I wrote this and I did not know I couldn’t edit it when I started the message. Could someone please delete this? This is really upsetting to us that it is showing things we didn’t want showing and I can’t correct or edit my messages. I do not want to use this forum and want this thread removed please.

PLEASE HELP US LEARN HOW TO DELETE THIS THREAD. i did not want it to disclose some of what it’s showing on username that we did not think would show and I don’t want something up that I can’t edit.

Please don’t decide for others what is confidential to them. I had thought I had succeeded in changing the user name and only got the “public” side changed and did not know the forum would show both. Please delete this thread. I don’t want to have to delete the account over a privacy problem.
