How do we avoid duplicate subscription notifications?

Please note that we are receiving comments that email subscribers are receiving duplicate notifications. How can we stop this?

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. There won’t be any settings on your end to help with that, but we’ll be happy to take a look.
Can you please have the subscriber(s) who are receiving duplicate notifications contact us directly so we help them find out what’s going on?
(A scenario that comes to mind is that they might be subscribed with an email address that’s forwarding to another email, so they think they’re seeing two, when they’re only being sent one notification.)
