How do we get back to the original comment box???
-
This new comment box is TERRIBLE!!
I moderate at least 200 comments a day, and I have received dozens of complaints about the disastrous new comment box. The font is much too small, the old comment remains after submitting it, the font is hard to read, the box jumps around when typing, etc.
PLEASE revert to the previous comment box. There was NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. This new glitch-prone fiasco is enough to get us to find a new platform.

I’m sorry that you don’t like the new WordPress.com comments box. At this time, there isn’t currently a way to go back to the old one, but we will pass along your feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know what you think about the new comment box.

coffeemanmatt,
It’s not that I don’t like it. One opinion means little. But as a moderator on a heavily-trafficked site [600,000+ reader comments in only 4 years], I have been reading a litany of complaints regarding this particular change. Further, this change is the first time commentators have been this vociferous in their anger.
Please do some happiness engineering, and rectify these problems ASAP.

There may be a few glitches in the new comment system, that will be fixed as fast as possible, but the global feedback from our millions of users and visitors is very positive.
Again, we are doing our best to rectify all problems as fast as we can.

Thanks, paolal. To get an idea of the problems, see here:
And refreshing the Edit Comments page takes at least 20 seconds. Interminable, when refreshing fifty times a day. If there’s any way to speed up the refresh, it would be greatly appreciated. [Just having the option to refresh the current page would be enough most times.]

Thank you for the followup, dbstealey. I’ll gladly pass your feedback (and the post you cite) along to the developer team that implemented the new comment box.
