How do we stop spam bots from creating user accounts?
-
we have a wordpress blog set up on an extension of our website. There’s someone who’s creating accounts every 5-10 minutes. I’ve been watching my onsite tools and no one is there, so I can only imagine that it would be a spam bot creating user level accounts on our wordpress blog.
Does anyone know how to stop this? It’s annoying getting an e-mail every x # of minutes saying that a new user has signed up. I don’t even know the page where they’re making these accounts.

You really need to be over at the wordpress.ORG forums as that is where the software you are using is supported, but just go to settings > general in the dashboard and deselect “anyone can register” under “membership and save.
