How do we, the current HOA, recover access over this site?
-
I am part of the HOA board and we found this old site which has not been updated. Having reached out to the contact emails addresses on the site only one person responded but their credentials no longer work.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Unknown -
Hi there,
To recover access to that site, please follow our Account Recovery guide:
-
I did look at the account recovery form but no one that was around when the site was created have any information which means I do not have one of the three Proof of Ownership entries.
There are four email addresses on the page’s contact page however one of them was a generic gmail address which the site creator’s do not know it’s credentials and of the three email address’s on the contact page only one will respond and she no longer remember what the credentials were and while she believed she passed this information to another neighbor he doesn’t recall this.
Of course this is all nearly eight years ago…

If you aren’t able to provide us with any of the proof of ownership mentioned in the Account Recovery guide, then we won’t be able to help you recover access to the site.
What I recommend doing is creating a brand new site and start fresh.
-
How do we have the name removed from the site which no one claims to have credentials for?
Can you provide the contact email given for the site?
Do you have a mailing address for legal correspondence? If we cannot gain access to the site we need it struck so as not to cause confusion.
-
if the site contact mail is not sharon’s or redtop* then it has to be the gmail on the site contact page and for that i can petition google.
-
Please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com explaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.
